Doneth School (1912)

Thank you to Tom Wells for donating these photos. They show students who attended the Doneth School in the early 1900s.

An 1896 plat map of Cleon Township shows the school was located east of the intersection of Doneth Road and Romsek Road. It was built on land owned by Peter and Wm. Doneth. The school, like many other one-room schools in the area, later merged with the Copemish School.

Taken at Doneth School, Cleon Township, about 1912.

Teacher C.D. Mow lived in the house that use to be on the forty. He walked across the field to the school.
