" Old Pioneers Who Have Removed From Our Midst -- Alonzo Chubb Alonzo Chubb was born in Monroe County, NY, in 1823. His people moved to Michigan soon after the state was admitted to the Union. Mr. Chubb enlisted soon after the war of the Rebellion in the One Hundred and Fifth Ohio Volunteers, serving two years, at the end of which time he was mustered out on account of wounds and sickness, having attained the rank of lieutenant. Those are three things Copemish players on the former school’s historic 1952 team hadn’t seen before.
