Civil War Veterans
This photo was given to the Historical Society by Leonard Overmyer III. He wrote that the photo was given to his grandmother, Lillian Overmyer, by Jessie Bowman Stiver. Jessie was a descendent of Robert Lewis. Our village park is dedicated to Robert Lewis (there is a plaque mounted on a stone on the Maple Street side of the park).
Top Row: Robert Fulton Lewis (1840-1921), Jacob Sears (9th Co. B, 8th MI Infantry, 1810-1897), T. Cordion (11th Reg, MI Cavalry, 1846-1933), Jake Rinard (1835-1907), and Mr. Snyder.
Third Row: George Hall, George Clifton, Alexander Pratt (1845-1921), and John Stanton (MI Eng., 1837-1921).
Second Row: George Henderson, William O. Killian (Sgt. Co. D 6th MI Heavy Artillery), A.L. Hunt (Co. D 13th MI Inf), Daniel A. Holmes (C/H MI Calvary) and Alonzo Chubb (1823-1908).

Robert F. Lewis ran the store in Copemish.
Jake Sears' farm was off Viaduct Road.
William Killian and Alex Pratt were from the Harlan area.
John Stanton enlisted in 1861. Corps of Engineers. He was taken prisoner within six months, and he was discharged in 1865.
Alonzo Chubb was elected Cleon Township Supervisor in 1868.
Not pictured: Robert Carpenter -- He was from Minnesota.
